Susumaniello “Lampu”

Tasting Notes

The Susumaniello “LAMPU” originates from the symbol of fertility that has accompanied the agro-pastoral culture since the dawn of time. The “Lampu”, from the local dialect “lightning”, is that luminous phenomenon that heralds the arrival of rain, a blessing for the crops. Susumaniello is a strong vine, which over the centuries has adapted perfectly to the drought of southern Puglia.

The LAMPU presents itself with a ruby red color, while on the nose, it reveals violet and ripe red fruit aromas, particularly plum. On the palate, it is fruity, herbaceous, and tannic, with hints of spices and licorice on the finish.

Due to its complexity, the LAMPU is the perfect pairing for rich pasta dishes, such as the traditional homemade pasta with sausage and “cardoncelli” mushrooms.
