Tasting notes

The Famiglia De Cerchio’s estates come together to bring forth Meridionale Tre Tenute. A blend of Montepulciano, Primitivo and Nerello Mascalese, the iconic varieties of Abruzzo, Puglia and Sicily, three regions of southern Italy blessed with sun and beauty.
The harvest periods of these grapes are very different. At the beginning of September the Primitivo begins to be collected while Nerello Mascalese and Montepulciano are harvested in mid and late October respectively. The grapes are picked up slightly over ripened to have a very high sugar content which will turn into roundness and pleasantness in the glass. Processed separately, the musts macerate in contact with the skins for over 45 days in steel vats, to then be blended before aging in French and Slavonian oak tonneau for eighteen months.
With a deep red color and thick tears on the glass, it captures with hints of black currant, chocolate and cocoa, which we find in the mouth enriched with a peppery finish. Excellent with aged cheeses, game and red meats.
