Peri Peri

Frappato “Magara”

Tasting Notes

The Frappato of the Peri Peri estate intertwines its history with Sicilian mythology, with those mysterious characters and with the magical sensations that a “MAGARA”, a witch in the local dialect, can make you feel.

Frappato is one of the most representative autochthonous grape varieties of Sicily, and it is believed that its name derives from the term “fruttato” (fruity), as it possesses a broad and vibrant bouquet with notes of red fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, and red currants, along with floral hints of violets and roses. In terms of appearance, it has a charming red color. On the palate, the wine is fresh and moderately tannic, offering flavors of fresh red fruit, including red currants and cherries. It has a long persistence with a silky finish.

We recommend pairing MAGARA with cheeses and vegetable-based dishes, such as aubergine parmigiana.
